Greg Blackwell was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. His father worked in sales, mostly as a real estate broker. His mother was an administrative assistant—the term back then was “secretary.” From his parents he learned a strong sense of personal integrity and a powerful work ethic.
After high school, Greg joined the Air Force. This was during the Vietnam War: he believed in serving his country. Upon completing his tour of duty, he went to college with the help of the GI Bill. He graduated in 3.5 years from Georgia State University while also working full-time.
He next embarked on a career in sales. Over the years, he worked at SunAmerica, River Source Distributors (an Ameriprise subsidiary), Smith Barney, Paine Webber, and Fidelity Investments. He served as both a sales person and a sales manager helping others fulfill their potential. Wherever he worked, Greg consistently exceeded objectives and was a top performer, on multiple occasions receiving public recognition for his achievements. (For details, see the FAQ.)
Greg’s passion has always been to make a difference in the life of others. He’s also been blessed with a special gift—to get to the root cause of what’s keeping people from achieving their goals. A few years ago, Greg decided to pursue his passion (and put his gift to work) full-time. He launched Great Performance Coaching, which helps sales and other business professionals perform at the very top of their game.
He and his wife Crystal have been married 25 years. They have three grown children—Lisa, Matt and Brian.
